Privacy Policy

Holger (“we”, “us”) is a macOS voice assistant operated by Tobias Geertsen, Denmark. This policy explains what we collect and how it’s used. We aim to collect as little as possible.

What we collect

• Account & billing. If you subscribe, your email and payment are handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We never see or store your card details.
• Licensing & usage. We store your license key and basic usage counts (e.g. number of requests per day) to operate the service and prevent abuse. We do not store the content of your voice, text, or screenshots on our servers.
• Voice & screen content. Audio or screen captures are processed only when you actively trigger a command, to fulfil that request.

On‑device by default

The “Hey Holger” wake word runs entirely on your Mac. No audio leaves your device for wake‑word detection - only when you actively use a command.

How your requests are processed

To transcribe speech and answer requests, we send the relevant audio, text, or screenshot to trusted AI providers (currently OpenAI and Anthropic) through our servers. Under their API terms, this data is not used to train their models. We do not sell your data to anyone.

Service providers

• Stripe - payments and subscriptions.
• OpenAI, Anthropic - speech transcription and AI responses.
• Resend - sending your license email.

Data retention & your rights

We keep account and usage metadata for as long as your account is active. You can request access to or deletion of your data at any time by emailing us. If you’re in the EU/EEA, you have rights under the GDPR.
